October 26, 2020  

The scripture readings for Reformation Sunday, October 25, were Psalm 90 and John 3:1-8. The proclamation was provided by the Alliance of Baptists and given by Rev. Dr. James Forbes. He is the Senior Minister Emeritus of the Riverside Church, an interdenominational church on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City. He was the first African American minister to lead this multicultural congregation, and served it for 18 years.



April 27, 2020  

The scripture reading for Sunday, April 26 was Psalm 40. Rev. Laura Mayo gave the proclamation. 



March 9, 2020  

The scripture reading for this Sunday, March 8, was Psalm 121. Two guest proclaimers, Brooke Longoria and Robert Carter, offered reflections on that reading. The Covenant Choir sang a setting of Psalm 121 by John Ness Beck.


January 27, 2020  

The scripture readings for this Sunday, January 26, were Psalm 27:1, 5-13; Matthew 4:12-23. Rev. Laura Mayo gave the proclamation.


October 14, 2019  

The scripture lessons from this Sunday, October 13, were Psalm 122:1; 1 Chronicles 29:13-16, and 2 Corinthians 8:7, 9:7. Susan Yarbrough gave the proclamation. 


The scripture reading for Sunday, August 4, was Psalm 107 (read and sung). Laura Mayo and Kristy Kyle gave the proclamation.


May 6, 2019

November 6, 2018  

On this All Saints/All Souls Sunday, November 4, our scripture lessons were Psalm 23 and Hebrews 12:1. Dale Thomas was our worship leader and Rev. Laura Mayo gave the proclamation. Our choir sang Movements I, II, VII and IX from “Requiem” by Maurice Duruflé. Those have been previously recorded. The Call to Worship read by Dale, was by member Kathleen Cook.



The scripture lessons for this Sunday were Psalm 56:1-4 and Psalm 59:16-17. Our proclamation was sung by our choir. Included in this recording: 

"Hush" arranged by Alice Parker,

"There Is a Balm in Gilead" arranged by William L. Dawson,

"The Creation" from God's Trombones by James Weldon Johnson, narrated by Moses Mason,

"Listen to the Lambs" by Nathaniel Dett.

This Sunday was also a day of celebration for our new building. All ages joined in writing thier hopes and prayers for the future on the framing (Photo). And we welcomed organist Patrick Parker!
